STEM
This week in STEM, Preps explored hard and soft materials. They had to sort different objects into whether it is made of hard or soft materials.
Grade 1/2s looked at different objects and had to use adjectives to describe these.
Grade 3/4s learned about words used to describe the properties of materials and played a game of ‘Guess Who?’ to practise using these words.
Grade 5/6s explored the effect of heat on chocolate and how changes to chocolate and water are reversible changes.
Well done to Camilla Robertson and Jobe Lewis for receiving STEM certificates this week. Congratulations to 1/2A for also receiving a class STEM award for this week.

Art News....
This was the final week that students worked on their art inspired by the artist Henri Matisse.
The preps had the chance for a free art day this week after a big afternoon of swimming. The grade 1/2's were given the opportunity to finish off any left-over work for the last four weeks.
The senior students were also given time to finish off their expressionist portraits and their own collaged creations.
There was some truly wonderful stuff made over the last four weeks and iI'm sure Ms Brown will be thrilled to se all the amazing artwork.
The art awards this week go to Daniel Heath 1/2C, Archie Stewart 3/4C and Dustie Kawau 5/6B.
