Year 7 News

Vermont Secondary College

Dear Parent’s and Guardians,

It’s hard to believe that we’re already so far through our second term but it’s amazing to see our students so confident and comfortable in their secondary school setting. We’re well established in our routines and we’re seeing an amazing standard of work being produced. You will no doubt be hearing about the continued efforts towards assessments as we near the end of the semester.

The Year 7 team have had a wonderful opportunity over the past fortnight to both view and then reflect on behaviour and assertiveness through a production called Sticks and Stones run by Brainstorm Productions. The whole cohort had this production staged for them in our Fallon Auditorium on Monday last week and then each of the Student Managers ran through a session to unpack and reaffirm some of the positive messages with their House groups. We saw some amazing and respectful insights coming out of the Year 7 class as a whole and we’re extremely grateful to the Wellbeing Team for organising and giving us this great opportunity.

We take great pride in our school values of integrity, respect and excellence and lately in Year 7 we are seeing incredible work being done in pursuit of all of them. We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to building these values even further.

Sincerely,

Andrew Nyhuis
