Optus Digital Thumbprint Workshops

“Digital Thumbprint" served as an engaging and educational workshop aimed at empowering young teenagers with the necessary tools to effectively de-escalate online conflicts. Through interactive sessions, participants learned practical techniques, such as reporting incidents to the e-safety commissioner, to address and diffuse potentially harmful situations in the digital world. This initiative was not only timely but also crucial in today's digital technology , where online conflicts and cyberbullying can have significant consequences on individuals' well-being. Overall, Digital Thumbprint emerged as a valuable resource helping to bring a more positive online environment for young people.  Rohaan A Yr 7

I found the Digital Thumbprint session incredibly interesting because it taught so much to us about being safe online, and how to obey various laws. Saynthan T Year 7

As a new year comes, a new Digital Thumbprint Workshop arrives. Dom comes back to tell us the best ways to keep ourselves safe online. The experience was great and Dom taught as many things that we shall keep with us for the rest of our lives. He made it fun and exciting with many activities. We hope that he shall be back next year with a new topic to share with us all.    Wilson P Yr 8

"The structure of the workshop was well planned and fun, I enjoyed it because he was playing games and telling us an engaging story while teaching us about cyber safety at the same time."  Vaanya M Yr 7

Our Digital Ambassadors popped in for a chat with Dom at lunchtime.

Gaming in your Family

When: Tuesday 28th May 2024, 7pm AEDT

Timing: 40 minutes + questions

For pre-teen and teenage children, gaming can be a social activity that encourages cooperation, group problem-solving and teamwork. It can also be a way for children to unwind or explore their creative sides. But you’re not alone if you don’t really understand what’s going on when your child plays video games or whether the games they’re playing are right for them. This workshop will offer you tangible ideas and approaches to help you turn gaming into a positive, pro social experience for your child. Taking away some of the concern and guilt and giving you a broader perspective of video game culture and young people.
