The OHMP  -(Out of Hour Music Program) committee needs your help!

Our Music Program is unique to APS and has been running for many years under the guidance of a dedicated parent committee.  We are seeking new committee members for this program to keep operational at APS. It is vital we have enough volunteers to spread the load. At the moment we need help managing the emails but general committee members are also sort. We can offer support, training, guidance to all new volunteers.

Please let the committee or office know if you are able to help out.

Think U Know- Cyber Safety Presentation- Tuesday 11th June 6pm

Alphington Primary School will be hosting a ThinkUKnow presentation for parents and carers on Tuesday 11th June at 6pm.

ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence based education program delivered nationally to prevent online child sexual exploitation.

This session is recommended for parents of Year 5 + 6 students, though is also informative and open to our whole school community.

No need to RSVP, just come along!

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about young people and the online environment, and how you can help them to be safe and responsible users of technology. It is recommended particularly for Year 5 and 6 parents/carers, but also for any other parents interested in learning more.

Think U Know Australia is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Microsoft Australia, Datacom and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The program is delivered in collaboration with policing partners New South Wales Police Force, Northern Territory Police, Queensland Police, South Australia Police, Tasmania Police, Western Australia Police, as well as Neighbourhood Watch Australasia.

The presentation will be delivered by a local law enforcement member (Andrew Moreton) and an industry volunteer. The presentation is pro-technology and addresses topics including self-generated child abuse material, online grooming, sexual extortion, and importantly encourages help seeking behaviour.
