The school has partially moved into the new Yaluk building. It was exciting for staff this morning to have our first staff photo taken in the warmth of the new gym.
The foyer is looking good with the story of the Durrung of the Yan Yan now on the wall to accompany the platypus. The story was the inspiration for the colour scheme throughout the building. The work "Yaluk" (meaning river) was chosen from the story by the students.
The coffee machine has been installed in the servery. The students are eager to resume their barista training. Hopefully next week will see the program resume. Most of the hospitality equipment has arrived and been set up so the VET and the Hands-on-leaning programs will move permanently to the kitchen next week.
Room 26 and 27 have moved and are settling into their new classrooms. The students are expressing their excitement and enjoyment of the rooms in a variety of ways. They have explored the outdoor space near their rooms and some have found their favourite place to work.
Secondary students are enjoying the art space with the standing benches and the high drafting stools. There is also outdoor seating for students to complete tasks outside.

Most classrooms have been relocated to their new buildings. Rooms 26 and 27 have relocated to Yaluk. Rooms 16, 17 and 18 have relocated to the secondary breezeway.
Room 25 will relocate when the joinery has been completed in Yaluk building.
Thank you to staff and students for their assistance in packing up and moving their classrooms.
The Planned Maintenance Program is expected to be completed by the end of the Term 2 holidays. A new laser lite roof will be erected over the valley on the main building to assist with the gutter overflow issue the building has. The remainder of the Main building floor will be restumped, and the roof, guttering and overflows will be completed in the secondary area.
