Library News
Our goal at both Cranbourne and Clyde North Libraries is to make our spaces as inclusive and encouraging to all students. There are many challenges to reading as some students are reluctant and disengaged with the traditional print format. Fortunately our English programme allows all students to appreciate literature. Our Library offers many E books which is a way of enticing those students who may shy away from printed novels.
One of our E Books is “Eagle Strike” by Anthony Horowitz which follows teenage spy Alex as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of a philanthropist. Alex faces danger at every turn testing the limits of his courage and this is a gripping read for teenage readers.
Another popular author is Tristan Banks who has written many contemporary tales and we have his books available in hard copy. “Two Wolves” is one of Banks’ titles about a teenager called Ben Silver who discovers two sides of himself represented by two wolves. One side is angry and negative while the other side represents kindness, courage and love. This scenario provides an intriguing story of a boy choosing to do the right thing in the face of knowing something is wrong.
