School Holidays - Time to rest, reset and recharge
As another busy term comes to an end, the school holidays offer a valuable chance for our students - and families - to slow down, reset and recharge.
After weeks filled with learning, friendships, activities, routines and plenty of excitement, children benefit from having some space to simply switch off from the usual demands of the school week. Holidays don’t need to be packed with activities to be meaningful. Slower mornings, time outdoors, catching up with family and friends, playing, reading, creating or simply having some downtime can all help children recharge.
It can also be a lovely opportunity to reconnect as a family - whether that’s through a day out together, a walk or bike ride, a movie night, cooking together or just enjoying a little more time without the rush of school mornings and afternoon commitments.
We hope all of our LPS families find some time over the break for the things that help you rest, reconnect and feel good, ready for one final term together in 2026.
Looking ahead – Wellbeing learning in Term 4
In Term 4, students will continue their wellbeing learning through the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program, alongside opportunities to revisit and strengthen learning from Friendology.
Across Prep to Grade 6, the focus will develop in an age-appropriate way, with students exploring skills and concepts including positive coping, problem-solving, stress management, help-seeking, respectful relationships, personal space, consent, gender norms and stereotypes, and being an upstander.
For our younger students, this includes building foundational skills around respect, personal boundaries, asking for help and what to do in tricky situations. As students move through the older year levels, learning builds to explore consent, respectful peer relationships, gender-based violence, upstander behaviour and help-seeking, alongside practical strategies for managing stress and solving problems.
Our regular classroom Circles will also continue, providing students with opportunities to connect, build belonging and practise the social and emotional skills that support positive relationships across our school.
We wish all of our LPS families a safe, happy and restful holiday break, and look forward to welcoming everyone back for a positive final term of 2026.
