Hello Wonderful Parents & Carers,
Well there goes Term 1! It sure has been hectic, but full of so many wonderful learning experiences! I know that my learning curve has been humongous!
Here is âThe Childrenâs Wellbeing Continuumâ created and published by The Murdoch Institute. It has four anchor points that range from âGoodâ through to âCopingâ, âStrugglingâ and âOverwhelmedâ. It is a simple but great tool to generate conversations with your child about their wellbeing at a point in time. Simple questions, like the ones below, can help your child to recognise, acknowledge, reflect on and share their feelings and state of wellbeing. It can also be used for parents or carers to share where they sit on the continuum and have valuable conversations.
Some questions you might ask are:
- Where are you on the continuum at the moment?
- Where are you on the continuum when at school?
- Where are you on the continuum while at home?
- What strategies do you think you could use to get from the orange into the green zone?
- When do you feel most in the âOverwhelmedâ section?
- How can you tell when youâre in the âStrugglingâ zone? What does your body do?
By being able to discuss and reflect on their wellbeing, using appropriate language, it enables children to better get support when they are struggling.

A Wellbeing Survey for our MEPS Parents and Carers
Can you please help us to make our fabulous school even better?!Â
Â
As part of my role as the MHWL, I am required to survey our students, staff and our parent community to get a better understanding of our current state of mental health and wellbeing. Our survey data can also help us to plan learning opportunities in areas that may fall short. The survey is anonymous, in the hope that we get a true and honest snapshot. Please take the time to fill it out from the link below. It should only take a few minutes to complete.
Hereâs the survey, which you can access as either a web link or a QR code!Â
Thanks for taking part!
