Principal's Message

G’day Everyone,

It’s hard to believe that we have already reached the end of Term 1! It has been a wonderful start to the school year, filled with learning, growth, and community spirit.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our amazing students for their enthusiasm and hard work, our dedicated staff for their commitment to providing engaging and supportive learning experiences, and our families for their ongoing support and involvement.

As we head into the school holidays, we encourage everyone to take a well-earned break, spend quality time with loved ones, and enjoy a special Easter with your family.   Looking forward to an exciting Term 2!

End of term and parent teacher interviews

A reminder that TODAY is our last day of term.  Students will finish at 2.30pm TODAY. Thank you to the 323 parents who have made 491 bookings for today and tomorrow’s parent teacher interviews.

Easter Egg Raffle

Our much-loved Easter raffle is fast approaching!  This will be happening TODAY from 1.10pm – 2pm in the stadium.

Epilepsy Foundation (Purple Day)

What a great day this was!  Thanks to everyone who had a splash of purple on and donated towards this worthy cause.  We managed to raise $606.65 which is an amazing effort!  I still want an official investigation on why I get voted in for the slime each year.

House Colours/BBQ

Huge thank you to Kristen Lees, Sam Lees, Jackie Boniface, Daniel Boniface and Mr Stephens for their work in preparing and cooking the BBQ for the whole school yesterday.  You guys go above and beyond for the kids.  Thank you!

MEPS Masters

Thanks to the 68 players who attended the MEPS Masters on Sunday. This was a hit once again and provided many laughs, especially if you witnessed Mr D, Mr Stephens or Mr Hennessy hitting a golf ball.

Huge thank you to Jason from the House of Golf for his sponsorship of prizes.  Also, one of our parents, Leigh Hughes, from On Course Golf for his generous donation of prizes.

Well done to David Piccioli, Trent Carr, David Carr and Clinton Kennon for taking out the 2025 title!

March 15th is already locked in for next year, so pop it in your diary and let’s make it even bigger!!

Uniform Reminder

Just a friendly reminder about uniform with the change of weather that’s heading our way.  We are more than happy for students to wear additional jackets/coats when cold, however, these must be over your normal school jacket.  All additional jackets/coats must then be taken off when in class, as the rooms are heated.

Hats

Hats are now done until Term 4!  If your child would like to continue to wear one, then that’s perfectly fine!

Privacy and Use of Photography

Just a reminder to parents that MEPS has a privacy policy, regarding the use of personal data, which is in line with Department policy. It can be found on the school website https://meps.vic.edu.au/policies/privacy.pdf

Mooroolbark East Primary also has policies around the taking and use of photos and filming, which is also in line with Department policies and can be found on the school website https://meps.vic.edu.au/policies/photographing_filming_and_recording_students.pdf

Please reach out to leadership if you have any questions.
