Anzac Assembly

Glen Innes High School held our annual ANZAC Day Assembly on Monday 7th April to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, past and present. It was a moving and memorable event for our school community.

Mrs Millar shared the incredible story of Sergeant John Robert Cowan Kelly, a Glen Innes local who served bravely in World War I, fighting at Fromelles and later assisting the White Russians during the Russian Revolution. His story brought home the personal connections our community shares with the ANZAC legacy.

We were also privileged to welcome this year’s guest speaker, CAPTAIN LRR Crothers – Retired, who delivered an inspiring address on the themes of resilience and overcoming adversity—qualities that remain at the heart of the ANZAC spirit and continue to shape the character of Australians and New Zealanders today.

Glen Innes High School would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Glen Innes RSL Sub-Branch for their continued support of this important annual event.

Lest We Forget.
