Year 12 Advanced English Students Take on Shakespeare in Sydney
Our nine Year 12 Advanced English students recently travelled to Sydney for an enriching experience centred on Shakespeare's Richard III. The trip included a thought-provoking symposium and a powerful live performance of the play. Students also took part in an engaging workshop at NIDA, where they explored the use of heightened language in Shakespeare’s works. Despite a couple of minor geographical misadventures, the group had a memorable and enjoyable time. Staff at all venues praised our students for their excellent manners, enthusiasm, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. Well done to all involved!

Cultural Feast
Last Wednesday, Year 8 students participated in a cultural feast that was a part of Harmony Week celebrations. Year 8 has been studying Asian cultures and their storytelling methods. Each student and English teacher was asked to bring some food from the culture they were studying or some other Asian food they enjoyed. All of the students had a fantastic time trying the food from other Asian cultures.

Freedom Writers
This term, in Year 10 English students have been studying the film “The Freedom Writers” by analysing the film through the themes and cinematography that have been utilised to position the viewers in a particular way. Upon completion of their draft essay, students were given the opportunity to write a film review discussing their opinions on the film.
