Junior School Council

On Monday 31st March, MPS celebrated Autism Awareness. Students wore their hoodies (or Oodies), donated a gold coin and attended a special assembly.

A huge thank you to Cam, Elise, Jed and Jared who talked about their experiences with autism. All four spoke so beautifully and we are very proud of how open they were with their superpowers and struggles and how clear and concise they were when they spoke.

MPS raised $143.50. This money will go to the Amaze Organisation and wil be used to help support families and individuals with autism.

Thank you,

Junior School Council

All four players visited Marlborough primary School for a meet and greet for selected students.

Our students were so delighted and asked written questions to the four who all answered all honestly and with interest.

Many of the questions received a reply of “ yeah good question "

some of the questions were  "What is the hardest game you've played ? " ." Who do you look up to? " What do you do after a game ?  " Who is  your  favourite player? "

The four players are promoting AFL and the importance of starting early playing Auskick to develop a life time love of sport and fitness.

In the Term 1 holidays, AFL Victoria are running some School Holiday Programs in collaboration with Hawthorn FC.  See attached flyer and great photos from the day.

House Cross Country

INTER HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY

On Wednesday April 2nd, the sun was shining in the morning and there was much excitement and buzz surrounding the House Cross Country. Students turned up dressed in their house colours and good running shoes. The 11, 12 and 13-age groups ran approximately 3 km, the 8, 9, and 10 age groups approximately 2 km and the 5, 6 and 7 age groups approximately1km.

It was great to see such positive attitudes, smiling faces and commitment to running throughout the events. Students competed at their Personal Best Level.

A big thank you to all Marlborough staff who ran / walked with their students. It was also great to see our older students also walk/ run with our younger students making sure they safely completed the course. I know several senior students did over 18000 steps.

I must give a massive thank you to all the Marlborough Community, parents, school house captains, school captains, grandparents, guardians, ex Marlborough students, and all Marlborough staff who so generously gave up their time to act as marshals and supporters along the course and at help at the finish line, making the events run smoothly. We could not have run this event so successfully without all your help. Staff that helped behind the scenes before the events along with the MPS Leadership student group were invaluable.  The Zoopers Doopers were a big hit after the event. We could not have run this event so successfully without every body’s teamwork.

Most importantly, a big congratulation to all competitors. 😊 You were all awesome!

The first 5-10 place getters from the 9-, 10-, 11- and 12/13-year-old age group will be invited to participate in the District Cross Country. The District Cross Country is on the morning of Tuesday 20th May at Quambee Reserve in Park Orchards.

9/10-year-olds will be running 2km and 11/12/13 will be running 3 km.

Who won? The winning house will be revealed on Friday April 4th assembly. All I can reveal was the results were very close.

Check out all the smiling photos!
