'The Arts' Update
Create Performance & Create Visual
Our wonderful theatre studies students were very excited to see their first production of the year today, Robot Song at Theatre Works St Kilda. This recently refreshed production showcases timely and relevant challenges being faced by the young people of today. Based on a true story, Robot Song illustrates the transformative nature of creativity combined with unconditional love, and how it becomes an unstoppable force. I speak for my fellow students when I say that this performance was a very relatable one.

The brilliant and talented cast of our 2026 Production: Rock of Ages, have been hard at work with rehearsals, starting on songs and some challenging harmonies, all with the help of the wonderful Ms Saunders. For the past few weeks, students have been getting back into the rhythm of art. Junior students have started exploring drawing techniques and investigating impressionism and fauvism. Ms Irvine, who teaches the specialism Art and Soul as well as VCE Art Making and Exhibiting, says her Art and Soul students have been studying the Renaissance and working with charcoal, while her VCE Art Making and Exhibiting students are experimenting with different art forms and materials, starting to think about what artworks they would like to make in the future.
