SETTING SAIL WITH DUKE OF ED || Congratulations to Phoebe M (Year 12), who sailed from Hobart to Geelong in January 2026 as part of the Young Endeavour Youth Development Voyage. This incredible experience supported the leadership, teamwork and resilience at the heart of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which we proudly offer at Beaumaris Secondary College. Phoebe’s voyage will contribute toward the requirements of her Gold Duke of Ed Award, alongside an unforgettable adventure at sea. A wonderful achievement!

THURSDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2026

SENIOR GIRLS & BOYS CRICKET ROUND ROBIN || Our Senior Boys represented the college with great spirit and sportsmanship at today's Round Robin Cricket competition. They played strongly across the day and, while they didn’t come away with the overall win, their teamwork and effort were impressive. A special mention to Angus B for breaking two stumps — a powerful performance!

Our Senior Girls were equally impressive, finishing 2nd overall on the day. In true team style, they opted for serious team photos only — as they told us, “We’re serious about cricket.” What makes their achievement even more remarkable is that more than half the team had never played cricket before. An outstanding effort!

LEARNING AT RICKETTS POINT || It’s been a fantastic week of marine exploration at Ricketts Point for our BEST students. Our Year 9/10 Marine Sanctuary students headed into the water to observe marine life up close, deepening their understanding of adaptations, intertidal ecosystems and the impact of human activity.

Meanwhile, our Year 8 BEST students investigated the classification of intertidal species, completed a reef ramble and gathered observations for their Term 1 PBL, immersing themselves in hands-on learning beyond the classroom.

Authentic learning, real-world connections and a coastline right on our doorstep.

ON THE AIRWAVES || A fantastic start to our 2026 broadcasts! 🎙️Today, Matisse and Lincoln from Year 8 were the first students to step up to the mic for a live, hour-long show on air at Southern FM 88.3. We are grateful for this ongoing partnership, which provides our students with authentic, hands-on experience in radio broadcasting and the opportunity to develop confidence, communication skills and creativity in a real-world setting.

Be sure to tune in to 88.3 on Thursday mornings from 8 – 9am as more of our students take to the airwaves throughout the year.
