NAPLAN Online Tests 2026
Year 7 & 9
Dear Year 7 & 9 Parents and Carers,
The National Assessment Program—Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN)—tests for students in Years 7 and 9 will be held in March this year in the period between March 11 and March 23.
Wednesday 11 March - Writing
Thursday 12 March – Reading Test
Friday 13 March - Conventions of Language Test
Monday 16 March – Numeracy Test
Thursday 12 – Monday 23 March - Catch-up Tests
NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals and can be used to improve student achievement.
Please find attached information for Parents and Carers.

Adjustments are available for students with disability who have diverse functional abilities and needs. Beaumaris Secondary College will work with parents/carers and students to identify, on a case-by-case basis, reasonable adjustments required for individual students with disability to access NAPLAN. Adjustments should reflect the support normally provided for classroom assessments.
To help inform these decisions, please refer to the NAPLAN brochure which contains links to the NAPLAN public demonstration site, the Guide for schools to assist students with disability to access NAPLAN, and a series of videos where parents/ carers, teachers and students share their experiences in using NAPLAN adjustments.
Please discuss any adjustments with your child's GOAL Mentor before Friday 27 February 2026.
In exceptional circumstances, a student with a disability that severely limits their capacity to participate in the assessment, or a student who has recently arrived in Australia and has a non-English speaking background, may be granted a formal exemption.
Please speak with Deb Kirk if you have any questions about exemptions before Friday 27 February 2026.
Deb Kirk
Assistant Principal
