Principal's Report

The year is well underway at Beaumaris Secondary College, and it has been a purposeful and energising start across all year levels.

Our Year 7 and Year 12 camps have provided important foundations for 2026. For our Year 7 students, camp strengthened connection, confidence and a sense of belonging as they begin their secondary journey. For our Year 12 cohort, the experience was intentionally designed to set them up for success — reinforcing expectations, strengthening relationships and equipping students with the mindset and strategies required for their final year.

On Monday, we commenced the formal presentation of our 2026 student leaders at our whole school assembly. Due to extreme heat and a medical episode requiring our attention, the assembly concluded earlier than planned. The remainder of the leadership badge presentations will take place at assembly on Monday. Leadership at Beaumaris is built on integrity, service and responsibility, and we look forward to the positive influence these students will have across our college community.

On Tuesday, we welcomed our Year 7 parents and carers for a relaxed evening of connection and conversation. Establishing strong partnerships from the outset is essential. When families and the school work together with trust, clarity and shared purpose, students benefit.

Tomorrow evening, our Year 12 students will celebrate their Formal — a significant milestone in their final year — and next week we look forward to the energy and friendly competition of our House Swimming Carnival.

High-quality teaching and learning remain central to our work. Year 9 students have undertaken Morrisby Profiling to explore future pathways and career possibilities, and PAT testing for Years 7–10 has provided valuable data to support learning growth. Across classrooms, sport and co-curricular programs, students continue to demonstrate strong engagement and commitment.

Our partnerships beyond the classroom further enrich the student experience. Marine studies at Ricketts Point, live broadcasts through Southern FM, training at Body Focus and opportunities at Royal Melbourne Golf Club through our Golf Academy all reflect our commitment to authentic, real-world learning and strong community partnerships.

Parent messaging groups, including WhatsApp, can be a helpful way for families to share reminders and connect with one another. However, concerns relating to student wellbeing, learning or school operations are best raised directly with the College to ensure accurate and timely information.

Strong partnerships and clear communication remain central to the culture of our College, and we thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to ensure every student and family feels connected and supported.
