Assembly 3pm every Monday - Parents are welcome to attend.
Take home books will commence in Week 5. We will send them home every Monday and students will keep them for the full week and return them back on Monday, ready for new books. Please note if the books are not returned, we will wait for their arrival before issuing new books. Additionally, we send home reading fluency sheets to support what sounds we are learning in class.
Foundation Picnic - Monday 9th February 3:45-4:45pm
Curriculum Day - Monday 16th February, no students at School.
The children have settled in beautifully and are doing wonderfully. It’s been a joy to see them making new friends, building positive connections, and growing in confidence each day. Their enthusiasm and curiosity are evident as they engage with one another and take part in classroom activities.
They are becoming increasingly familiar with their new environment and routines, and it’s lovely to watch them feel more comfortable and at home in the classroom. We’re so proud of how well they’re adjusting and look forward to supporting them as they continue to learn, explore, and thrive together.
Connect is the place to find all information for important dates and learning celebrations/happenings in the classroom. We love including photos of your children and we respect their privacy presence online. Please let us know if you do NOT want them featured in the newsletter (connect).
Students have been busy learning the letters s, a, and t, and exploring the sounds they make. They’ve enjoyed identifying and practising these sounds through a range of fun and engaging activities including learning to write the letter correctly. It is very important to focus on the sound each letter makes as this will help their early reading decoding skills. Below you will see the letters and the sound cards we use daily in class.
They’ve also been making up words that start with each sound, building early phonics skills and confidence along the way. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement as they recognise sounds and begin connecting them to words.

In Maths, students have been focusing on our Number of the Day, building strong early number knowledge. They are developing subitising skills by recognising quantities at a glance and learning how to match a quantity to its corresponding number.
The children are also beginning to practise correct number formation, laying important foundations for future learning. Alongside this, they’ve been learning how to use a dice properly, counting the dots and linking them to numbers in a fun and hands-on way.
