Susan Bishop

At the end of 2025, Susan Bishop made the decision to retire from her role at St Kilda Park Primary School, bringing to a close an extraordinary 35 years of service to our community. Susan began at SKiPPS in 1990, long before many of our current staff were even born, and her contribution across those decades has left a lasting and deeply valued legacy.
Susan has been a much loved and respected member of our school community for many years. Throughout her career, she made an extraordinary contribution to the life of the school, working as a classroom teacher, PE teacher, school librarian and, most recently, as our specialist Philosophy teacher. She also played key roles as Premier’s Reading Challenge coordinator, Walkathon organiser and in many other initiatives that enriched the lives of our students. In every role she took on, Susan brought deep care, creativity, a passion for learning and a genuine commitment to students and colleagues alike.
Her influence can be seen across generations of SKiPPS students, many of whom will remember her warmth, encouragement and the many opportunities she created for them to think deeply, read widely and get involved in school life. Susan’s dedication has left an indelible mark on our school and helped shape the culture and traditions that continue to make SKiPPS such a special place.
As Susan steps into retirement, we are delighted that she has accepted an invitation to return to school to say a proper farewell. We will be formally celebrating her remarkable career and the impact she has had on our community at a special assembly in Term 2.
We will confirm the date for this celebration soon, and we warmly invite families to come along and share in this opportunity to reconnect, celebrate her service and thank her for the difference she has made to so many lives over the past 35 years.
