Jazz in the Park - a huge thank you!

A huge thank you to all of the families who joined us for Jazz in the Park last night. The weather was warm and calm, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening together, and it was fantastic to see so many members of our community spread out across the grounds enjoying this special tradition.

The music from Hoodoo Mayhem was outstanding and provided the perfect soundtrack for the night, while the food and drinks on offer were delicious and added to the wonderful, festival-like atmosphere. Events like this are a much loved part of life at SKiPPS and a lovely way to celebrate the start of a new school year together.

Jazz in the Park is a long-standing school tradition and it was heartening to see current families, past families and friends of the school all coming together to enjoy the evening.

A very special thank you to our Parents’ Association, SKiPPA, for their tireless work behind the scenes to make the event run so smoothly. While it may have looked effortless on the night, there was a great deal of planning, organising and hard work involved. We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy our parent volunteers give to make events like this possible for our community.

School Tours for 2027 - now open for bookings!

It may feel early in the year, but we are already taking bookings for school tours for families with children starting Foundation in 2027. Each year, places fill quickly, so we encourage prospective families to book a tour and come and see our school in action.

Our tours are a great opportunity to meet our staff and students, explore our learning spaces, and get a real sense of what makes St Kilda Park Primary School such a special place to learn and grow.

If you have friends, family members or neighbours with a child starting school next year, please consider sharing this information with them and encouraging them to make a booking. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways families learn about our school, and we always appreciate your support in helping others discover what makes SKiPPS such a welcoming, high-achieving community.

School Sport Victoria – Team Vic Representative Program

The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides an opportunity for Victoria’s emerging student athletes to compete against Australia’s best school-aged athletes at the annual School Sport Australia Championships.

Team Vic includes a wide range of sports, including athletics, basketball, cricket, cross country, football, golf, hockey, netball, swimming, tennis and many others. Full details, including sport-specific information, can be found on the SSV TeamVic website.

It is important for families to understand that this pathway is highly competitive and intended for students who are already performing at an advanced representative level beyond local competition. It is not a developmental, preparatory or “come and try” opportunity. Students trialling are typically competing at a high level outside of school and have demonstrated strong performance in their chosen sport.

Families who believe this pathway may be appropriate for their child are asked to contact Neil in the first instance to discuss suitability. Once approval is given by the school, families will register directly with School Sport Victoria.

Please note that for some sports, schools are limited to nominating up to three students, and if we receive more expressions of interest than places available, we may need to conduct in-school trials to determine nominations.

School Photo Day - Friday 27th February

Our 2026 School Photo Day will take place on Friday 27 February.

All photo orders must be completed in advance through Compass. Families should have received communication directly from MSP Photography this week with instructions on how to book and pay.

You can also access the link to order photos via your Compass portal landing page. Please ensure orders are placed prior to photo day so that students can be photographed as part of their class and any sibling photos can be organised.
