Health and Wellbeing at Rangeview

Hi Rangeview community!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Tegan Cant, and I am thrilled to be taking on the new role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader here at Rangeview Primary School. This is my fifth year at Rangeview, and I have primarily worked in the senior school. I have always been passionate about wellbeing, and I am excited to support our staff, students, and families across the whole school.
In this role, my office is located just inside the library. I will spend three days a week in the wellbeing role (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) and the other two days teaching 5J (Mondays) and 5H (Thursdays) in the senior hub.
My role focuses on helping students feel confident, connected, and supported at school. This includes one-on-one conversations with students, supporting small groups, assisting with transitions, and providing advice and resources to families. I also work closely with teachers to strengthen our positive school environment and to identify early ways to support student wellbeing.
Rangeview already has a strong culture of wellbeing, with practices in place to support students and families. This role seeks to further enhance that culture, providing dedicated guidance, early intervention, and resources when needed. It is part of a broader initiative across Victorian schools called Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS), which helps schools provide practical support for student mental health and wellbeing, strengthen connections between families and teachers, and ensure students feel confident seeking help when they need it.
I am here to support students and families at any time, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch or come and see me if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s wellbeing.
I’m looking forward to a wonderful year ahead, working together to support the wellbeing of our whole school community.
Warm regards,
Tegan Cant
Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader
