Wellbeing & Engagement
Today is a great day to be you!
We have had a great start to the new school year and as usual, our Rangeview students have returned full of energy and ready to learn.
Teachers and students are working through our Rangeview 'Start Up Program' - lots of team building activities, a focus on relationships and engagement, and setting up class routines and agreements. This groundwork is so important to ensure standards are set early and the year runs smoothly for everyone.
We are once again looking forward to some amazing events over the year. We've already had our House Swimming Carnival (what a fantastic event earlier this week on Tuesday!) and we have some big things coming up...
We are looking forward to our students continue to try their best, take risks, support each other, achieve, make the most of every opportunity - and always show our values of resilience, respect and kindness.

As a school, we are in a very fortunate position of having an amazing team full of experienced and knowledgeable educators.
In the Wellbeing space, we have some changes to the leadership structure and it fills me with great joy and pride to welcome Tania Balderston to the Assistant Principal - Wellbeing and Engagement role, along with Tegan Cant, who this year has taken up the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader role. I am very excited to work alongside Tania and Tegan leading Wellbeing for the school.
As a team, we will share our newsletter article over the year with all Wellbeing-related news and events.

Rangeview remains a lead school for the 4Rs this year and we are looking forward to working in this space with fellow schools in our network.
As our partnership with The Resilience Project has now concluded, the 4Rs will form the core component of our Wellbeing learning at the school. We are excited with the new curriculum content and the key message in all teaching and learning is how to show respect at all times in all relationships.
Across the year, lessons from the 4Rs will be integrated within our wellbeing program, running alongside TRP and Cyber Safety. The school will also participate in Community of Practice sessions with other schools, sharing and developing ideas together to ensure respectful relationships are promoted and maintained in all schools.

Being safe online is another vital component to an individual's wellbeing. We will utilise the Cyber Safety Project curriculum to teach our students about conduct online. Given the prevalence of technology in our students' lives these days, it is so important for them to learn how to use devices safely.
Next Tuesday 10th February is 'Safer Internet Day'. More information can be found at the Safer Internet Day website here.
We are once again very excited to be running our annual Camp Out! This event will take place on Saturday February 28th on the school oval. Last year, we had approximately 160 people attend, which was outstanding - and we would love to see a repeat of this. All family members are welcome.
Please remember that, like all RAFT activities, it is not a 'drop and go' event. Parents/carers are responsible for their children at all times and must remain onsite with them during the camp out.
We are looking forward to another great night! A huge thank you to our RAFT leaders, Simon and Byron, for kicking us off in style for 2026. Please scan the QR Code on the poster below to register.

Coming up in a couple of weeks, we will run our first working bee of the school year. Based on community feedback last year, we will again run with the 2:00pm-5:00pm timeslot on a Sunday afternoon - February 22nd.
Our playgrounds are crying out for some love (and softfall) so we would love to see as many hands on deck as possible.
As usual, a sausage sizzle and icypoles will be on offer for all attendees.
