Kii 2/3S families,
As we're getting closer to the end of the year, holiday excitement is building!
Students have been studiously rehearsing their lines and are working together so beautifully to bring our class play (Stone Soup) to life. Thank you so much for your support of our class play and for accommodating the performance dates of Monday the 14th and Wednesday the 16th of December at 3.45pm.
Stone Soup is a European folk story that explores the theme ‘everyone benefits by contributing’. It begins with a wise old man who sets off on a journey. He comes across a village that has been going through hardship. The villagers are hesitant to welcome the stranger, as they have no food to share. The wise man ensures that he has everything he needs, but he insists on making the villagers some stone soup. Slowly the villagers begin to add in what little food they have. A cabbage, an onion, a carrot or two, soon they have a feast to share and a reason to celebrate together.
The class 3’s graduated from Malpa this morning. They were so excited to welcome you to their ceremony and to share about their Malpa journey. Thank you for coming in to celebrate with us. Some of our class 2’s will have an opportunity to experience the Malpa program next year.
The class 2’s have had Caitlyn and Philip visiting our classroom this week to introduce the students to various instruments that are available to them for orchestra next year. They had a go at playing the violin, viola and the cello. Caitlyn will be in contact with more information regarding orchestra and Philip is happy to talk with you also, especially to anyone wanting to find cello’s secondhand.
