The Babajen Outdoor Project is Coming Soon!
We are thrilled to announce that the long-awaited Babajen Outdoor Project will soon be underway! This exciting initiative is the result of a collaboration between our Grade 5 and 6 students, the Masterplan and Grounds Committee, and our dedicated parent volunteers.
Made possible by a generous grant from Nelson Alexander and the approval of the School Council to reallocate Kitchen Garden funds, this project will breathe new life into the Murray Street side of the Babajen. Once completed, you can expect to see upgrades that will enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of the space, including:
- Upgraded outdoor seating for more comfortable and inviting spaces
- Shade options to ensure the area can be enjoyed even on the sunniest days
- Privacy screening to create a more peaceful and secluded environment
- New plants and facilities that will allow us to grow our own food and further engage with our school’s commitment to sustainability
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Grade 5 and 6 students and their teachers. We also want to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Masterplan and Grounds Subcommittee members past and present, as well as the parent volunteers whose support continues to make this project possible.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work toward completing this exciting addition to our school grounds!

Kii TPS Community,
As many may already know TPS has been working to manage a historical debt. While it is not uncommon for schools to have deficits occasionally, in our case a very large deficit was accrued that required the school to enter into a debt management process with the Department which sets out a schedule for the debt to be recovered.
The school is doing well to manage within the constraints of this budget. However, School Council have been advocating strongly for changes to the management of the TPS historic debt and will continue push for more practical support from the Department.
If you want to discuss further please reach out to Council (michael.finger2@education.vic.gov.au).
