From Leadership
Dear parents and carers,
As we approach the end of another very busy school year, and staffing and classes for next year are finalised, we farewell a number of staff and thank them for all that they have given to TPS over a number of years.
- Millycent Baar who has taken a teaching position at Thomastown West Primary School
- Jo Boyce who has taken a teaching position at Westbreen Primary School
- Eddie Oberbichler who will be taking time away from full-time teaching and plans to do some relief teaching
- Beth Crupi who is having a break and exploring other options after more than 20 years at TPS
New staff joining us next year were announced in issue #63 of the Dhumbadjirri published on 8th November.
On Friday 20th December, our last day, we will have a special farewell assembly where we will acknowledge departing staff and also farewell our Year 6 students.
Transition and 2025 classes
On Tuesday next week, 10th December, we have a whole school transition activity where students will spend some time with their 2024 class teachers in their 2024 classrooms. This follows several transition sessions over the past couple of weeks where students were placed into random mixes of classes so that teachers could observe and make recommendations about class dynamics. In placing students into classes, the learning and wellbeing of each individual student is considered and a great deal of time and thought goes into ensuring the classes are as balanced. If, after the transition on Tuesday, there are any concerns for your child please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Year 6 students will be spending the day at their 2025 secondary schools as part of their transition program.
We also welcome 2025 Foundation students into their new classes on Wednesday 11th.
