Parent Involvement

Parents are our student's first teachers. You can be hugely influential players in learning with and beside each student, and you play a critical role in the success of your child/ren.

Instead of asking, "How was your day?", consider asking the following five important questions.

PAM - Parent Access Module

PAM, or the Parent Access Module, is your one-stop shop for your child’s assessment reports, where you go to book Learning Conversations, update your child’s medical profile, give permission for school excursions and activities, and an option for putting in a Parent Notified Absence if your child is ill.

To access PAM, head to: https://pam.stkennington.catholic.edu.au/. Alternatively, St Therese's also utilises the SIMON Everywhere app as a way to access PAM from your mobile devices.

Please note: ALL Students require an up-to-date and valid Medical Profile ASAP.

  • Faith: who develop a relationship with God.

Please note that NO swimming trials will take place this year due to time constraints before our swimming carnival NEXT THURSDAY.

For new families to the school or those with students starting in Middle 3 and competing at our swimming carnival for the first time, I thought I would go through the program of the day to alleviate any confusion.

As we are not having swimming trials this year, the 50-metre events at the swimming carnival will be a straight-timed final with the fastest times used to determine who the winners are and who progresses to the Catholic Schools Swimming Carnival (SSV District event).

Please note that all students don't need to participate in the 50-metre events at the carnival. However, participating students MUST be able to swim 50 metres confidently and using the correct technique as these are the requirements to compete in the Catholic Schools Swimming Carnival and beyond.

It is recommended students who are not confident in swimming 50 metres compete in the 25-metre events at the Swimming Carnival. All 25 metre events begin in the shallow end of the pool and most students should be able to stand up most of the way.

I spoke to all students in grades 4-6 at the end of last year during our PE lessons, to nominate their preferred swimming distance.

We encourage students of all swimming abilities to attend this fun day! Students can use kickboards in the 25-metre events if preferred. There will also be novelty events throughout the day as well as showing team spirit to earn points for their house!

The program of events is as follows kicking off at approximately 9:15 am. 50m and 25m events will go from oldest to youngest i.e. 12/13 year olds, 11 year olds, 10 year olds, 8/9 year olds):

  • Arrive and go to house areas
  • Marshall for 50-metre Freestyle events
  • Marshall for 25-metre Freestyle events
  • Novelty Event #1
  • Marshall for 50-metre Breaststroke events
  • Marshall for 25-metre Breaststroke events
  • Novelty Event #2
  • Marshall for 50-metre Backstroke events
  • Marshall for 25-metre Backstroke events
  • Marshall for 50 metre Butterfly events (invite only)
  • Best Contributors announced (time permitting)
  • Team Spirit winners announced (time permitting)
  • Overall House winner announced (time permitting)
  • Clean and pack up
  • Return to school

A PAM permission form went out yesterday. If you could please complete this form as well as updating your child medical information ASAP that would be greatly appreciated for smooth organisation.
