Welcome Back!

What a great start we've had to the 2025 school year!

A warm welcome to all of our new students and their families. We hope they are feeling settled and excited about their journey at Magill School. 

We welcome some new staff to Magill this year.  Sonia Magon is our new Assistant Principal who will be leading our numeracy focus this year. Sonia is a highly experienced leader and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. Many in our community will already know Lilli Carmen, who has worked in OSHC and as an SSO at Magill for several years. We're thrilled to have her on board, sharing the teaching duties in M4.  We also welcome back Emma Marks, Lex Bremner and Rommi Clark in 2025.

After what seems like an eternity, the Junior Primary Playground opened today. It is truly a remarkable space that will serve our school and community well for many years to come. We have shared with students and families (via email) the rules and encourage you to follow them when using the playground out of hours. Safety is our priority and we encourage  you closely monitor your children as they play. Please enjoy the attached video, recapping the process right up until the first ever playthrough. 

We are looking forward to hosting our Acquaintance Night and AGM on Wednesday the 12th of February. Unfortunately, the weather has not been kind to us and we have had to cancel our sausage sizzle due to the high temperatures forecast next week. Our class sessions will still go ahead, and the school will be open for parents to tour. We'll send an email next week with details about the  modified program. 

There is a lot of communication being shared throughout the year, especially early on. Please make sure you regularly check emails and Seesaw for whole school and class information. 

Don't forget that we have a pupil free day on Monday 17th February. OSHC is available if needed. please contact them to make a booking.

This year is shaping up to be another great one at Magill School! I look forward to the many events and opportunities to connect with our students and families.
