Celebrating SMCM Student Achievement

We are always delighted to see students giving things a go, learning from mistakes or disappointment, and striving to do their best. As Claire has often said, once a Mary Mack kid, always a Mary Mack kid,  we like to hear about the achievements of our past students as well.

Congratulations to former SMCM students:

  • Amelia DiBendetto who will represent St Monica's College at the 2025 Australian Track and Field Championship
  • Audriana David who will compete at the National Swimming Carnival
  • Caitlin Dines was awarded the St Monica's Medal for her achievements in study/career beyond secondary school.
  • Oliver Andrews who received the Sister Therese Quinn Award for the highest overall academic achievement (Year 7 2024).
  • Thomas Karageorgis who is the St Monica's College Captain for 2025

It is our pleasure to acknowledge the effort and time that our young people devote to their learning and areas of passion.

Congratulations to Christian (Dalton Homegroup) who won the junior singles championship at the Keilor Tennis club.

So far this term we have seen great examples of leadership by our year 6 students at school, during interschool sports, and at mass. Students in Years 3-6 were encouraged to try out for the swimming team by attending trials in February. Having a go at swimming 50m against many schools can be overwhelming. We were so pleased to see students overcoming nerves or losing their goggles during the race and continuing despite the challenges. SMCM swimmers have shown great resilience and a determination to not give up! Once selected to represent our school at the district swimming carnival, we then had 9 students progress to the next division.

We are very proud of all our swimmers who achieved their personal best and so many who now progress to the Regional event on March 20. Today's results included:

1st 12/13 yrs Relay

1st Medley Relay

1st Boys 9/10 yrs Backstroke

1st Girls 12/13 yrs Backstroke

2nd Girls 11 yrs Backstroke
