Year 1 Update

Well done to all our Year 1 students! They have settled into their new routines extremely well and it has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm for their learning shine through.
They have enjoyed sharing about their holiday adventures, building friendships and exploring their new classroom environments. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead.
Upcoming Learning:
English | To revise the digraphs in Stage 6 of the LLLL sequence. To investigate fairytales and identify the key elements such as the characters, setting, problem and solution. To write simple sentences using correct punctuation and adjectives. |
Maths | Week 2 - To collect data using tally marks and represent findings in simple bar graphs. Week 3 - To measure the length of shapes and object using informal units (feet, hands, paper clips, unifix etc.). |
Inquiry | Week 2 -To understand that everyone has unique features. Week 3 - To explore and understand that people have the same, similar and different backgrounds. |
SEL | To name emotions students can experience at school. To identify emotions through body language. |
News and reminders:
- Take Home Readers - Take home reading will commence in the coming weeks. If you still have your child's blue reader bag at home, please return it to school.
- Hats - A friendly reminder that school hats are required to be worn during recess and lunch. Students who do not have a hat will have to spend recess and lunch under the shade sails.
- Library Bags- Library will commence next week so please ensure your child returns their library bag reading for borrowing.
- Tuesday 11th February - Meet the Teacher 3.30 - 4.30pm. Parents are welcome to visit their child's classroom to look at some of their work and meet the teacher.
