Clyde North Campus News

Week 2
And another busy and productive week for all year levels.
Year 9 campers returned
It looks like all had an amazing time. Special thanks to all the staff involved.
Rosemary Graham Shield Winners: Augustine House Day Out
To celebrate winning the Rosemary Graham Shield, the students of Augustine were treated to a celebratory day out. Their venue of choice was Strike Bowling at Melbourne Central. It was interesting to see how many terrific bowlers we have in the House, as they took to the lanes in their teams and proceeded to compete ferociously with each other for the illusive ‘strike’. As half the House bowled, the other half played laser tag or racked up balls on the pool table.
The staff who travelled on bus 1 were given a special treat in the form of a songfest, that began when we left the Campus and finished when we returned. We were amazed at the breadth of song knowledge the students had, from Abba to Neil Diamond, the eclectic content made the journey most enjoyable.
More though than the activities themselves, it was wonderful to see the camaraderie amongst the students. Their joyfulness and obvious enjoyment in being in each other’s company speaks to the outstanding leadership of their House Captains, Sophie and Jaden, and to the true sense of community they have engendered within the House.

Avila House Mass & Feast Day
St. Teresa of Avila Feast Day.
This week Avila House celebrated the feast day of our patron saint, St. Teresa of Avila.
The day marked a wonderful occasion to join together and celebrate a Eucharist Mass lead by Fr. Dennis to honour the life and mission of St. Teresa and reminds us to live selflessly in the way of Christ.
Our joyous celebrations extended to our Avila Feast Day luncheon where we enjoyed each other's company as we ate a nourishing feast.
We extend our thanks to Fr. Dennis O'Brien and Mr Deng Chuor for their assistance in preparing and celebrating the special day.
Year 12 Final Week
Please see the program for year 12 students next week. We welcome all parents to attend the Graduation Assembly at the Campus on Tuesday, 22 October 2019 at 11.35pm. I would like to remind all year 12 students to maintain their high standards around uniform, behaviour and work ethic so that they can honour their legacy.
Reminders
Drop off and collection of students
Once again I must respectfully remind parents that MacKillop Road is not a drive in, drop off or collection point for students. The only cars that should be entering through the gates are visitors and teachers. At this stage of our building program we cannot accommodate a drop off and collection point from within the College grounds. Staff are on duty each morning and afternoon to provide support for your children, please respectively follow their requests not to drive into the College grounds. Thank you for your cooperation in this important aspect of ensuring all members of the community are safe.
I wish you all a safe and productive week.
