Year 2 News

Yesterday was the Book Parade. I liked how everyone put lots of effort into dressing up. We got some prizes for the best costume. ‘At Snuggle Up With a Book’ we made unicorns and superheroes. We also played bingo.

Mackenzie

In the morning we had a book parade and each class got to walk around and said who we were. I dressed up as Tashi and I won an award for the ‘best dressed’. I won a book called ‘Minecraft Enderman’.

Jenson

During Book Week I dressed up as Captain America. I enjoyed ‘Snuggle up with a Book’. It was fun. We did lots of activities. I liked making a puppet of a stickman.

Aiden

We made shadow puppets in class. We joined them with split pins and put an icy pole stick on them. In Show and Share, we made shadow puppets with our hands. I made a bird flying and a butterfly. My fingers were the wings. I also made a dinosaur by bending my fingers.

In Literacy, we have been learning about adverbs and prepositions. Adverbs add something to the verb. They tell us how, when or where. Adverbs often end in -ly. Prepositions tell us where something is. For example, ON the farm. IN the garden. OVER the rainbow. UNDER the table. ACROSS the oval. BETWEEN the flags.

In Maths, we have been learning about symmetry. Look on our window to see some symmetrical shapes and patterns.
