JLC WM - Exploring Sound

Making Musical Instruments
Students in JLC WM have been learning about Sound during Inquiry lessons. They have learned how sounds are made in movies by people called foley artists. They used a range of materials and objects to create their own sound effects for an orally told story.
Students conducted experiments to determine which would make the loudest and quietest noise using rice, gravel, pasta and sand, with surprising results!
Students used tin, cardboard and plastic containers to make musical instruments that could produce sound from plucking or strumming, blowing, shaking and tapping.
