STRATEGIC GOALS

As most of you are aware, we participated in the Department of Education’s strategic review process late last year.  The goals and key improvement strategies that were identified to address student achievement, engagement and wellbeing over the next four years are listed below.  Our Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan will be available on the school website in the coming weeks.  These goals provide a very clear direction for the school over the next four years.

Goal 1.  Develop curriculum and pedagogy that is consistently implemented across the school.

Key Improvement Strategies:

1.   All cohorts achieve positive growth year-on-year in English and Mathematics in relation to 2017 baseline data

2.  All staff consistently plan and implement point of need teaching based on data

3.  Evidence of school-wide approach to critical and creative thinking capabilities is observed in all classrooms

Goal 2.  Review leadership structures to ensure they are relevant and effective in embedding the schools vision, values, culture and strategic direction.

Key Improvement Strategies:

1.  Year on year data improvement in Staff Survey school leadership measures

2.  Year on year data improvement in the Parent Opinion Survey; including parent participation and involvement and teacher communication measures

Goal 3.  Develop a whole school approach to student wellbeing and engagement

Key Improvement Strategies:

  1. Collect data to gain feedback from students, teachers & parents to inform school practices in developing student wellbeing and engagement.
  2. Develop and embed school–wide approaches and programs for personal & social learning, health and wellbeing.

PARKING AROUND THE SCHOOL

We are aware that parking around the school can be very difficult during school drop off and pick up.  We ask that you are respectful of our neighbours and do not park across their driveways at any time.  We also ask parents/carers not to double park in Page St at anytime.  Double parking increases traffic congestion, restricting vision and making the area unsafe for our students.  The School Council has developed a working party to address issues raised by local residents in regard to our community’s parking practices.  We ask that you communicate this message with any carers that may pick up or drop off your child/ren.

PARENT TEACHER REPORTING DAY

Our semester one parent teacher reporting day will be held on Thursday 21st June.  This is a student free day. This day provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s semester 1 report with classroom and specialist teachers.  There will also be opportunities to meet on Monday 18th June and Wednesday 20th June from 3:45-4:45pm.  Detailed information regarding Parent Teacher Reporting Day will be communicated shortly via Compass.

We look forward to welcoming students and teachers from our sister school, Machong Central Primary School, next week.  They will be working alongside our grade 4 students for the duration of their stay.  Thank you to the families who volunteered to host our sister school students for an after-school visit.

Warm regards

Megan
