3/4s Learning from Home

After a positive start to remote learning last week, the students in the 3/4 department have gone from strength to strength. Daily learning assignments are being completed with great enthusiasm, and the teachers are so proud of how well their students have adjusted to their new life online.

Alongside maintaining their everyday education, the students are also acquiring a wealth of ICT skills, and because of the social nature of Google Classroom, their ability to communicate through text is also improving. Students are having to think carefully about what and how they write to their teacher and classmates when they are looking for support or feedback. It is pleasing to know they are developing skills that will put them in good stead in their future lives.

There has also been a slight sense of normality this week with students in all of the grades engaging in ‘face-to-face’ meetings on Google Meet. After the initial chaos of 20+ people in a video call, it has become a great way of keeping in contact! The students and teachers have enjoyed whole-class community circles and smaller group chats where they can discuss their learning.

We’d like to finish this week’s post by thanking all of the parents for the support you have given your children. Without you, remote learning would not be the success it is.

As always, feel free to get in touch with your child’s teacher if there are any issues.

All the best,

The 3/4 team
