Maroondah Region Girls AFL Day

On the 1st of August a selected group of Grade 5/6 girls represented Kalinda Primary School at the Maroondah Region Girls AFL Day.

They played five games, competing against Holy Spirit, Marlborough, Antonio Park, Yarra Road and Croydon Hills. The girls won two out of the five games played, which is a great effort.

They should be really proud of themselves, their improvement in skill performance and game sense was sensational. They worked really well together as a team, as they continually encouraged one another. The girls really enjoyed the experience, and had a great day together.

A special thank-you to Nick who assisted with coaching the team, and thank-you to all the parents who attended and showed their support on the day.

House Athletics Carnival

Just last week we announced the winning house from the House Athletics Carnival and presented ribbons to the students who finished either 1st, 2nd or 3rd overall in an event respective of age and gender.

The house results were as follows;

1st Place Chisholm

2nd Place McCubbin

3rd Place Melba

4th Place Parkes

A very big congratulations to Chisholm, for taking out the win for two consecutive years. Well done!

Congratulations to the students who were selected to represent Kalinda Primary School at the upcoming Ringwood North District Athletics Carnival. These students were selected based upon their results obtained from the House Athletics Carnival. They will have the opportunity to compete in specific events against students of the same gender and age from other schools in the Ringwood North District. We wish them all the best of luck as they progress to the next level.

A special congratulations to the new Kalinda recorder holders. Since 2015, we have been keeping records of our students athletic achievements. Well done to;

  • Alex Senyard achieving a time of 3:09.07 in the 800m run.
  • Callum Settle achieving a time of 2:47.35 in the 800m run.
