From the Assistant Principal

From Mrs Hopkins' office....

During the last fortnight we have been excited to welcome 'Roxie' to our community. Roxie will eventually become a regular school dog, visiting most if not every day. For now she is coming for part days several times a week so that she can become comfortable with the noises, smells and ever-changing environment that is a school. She has already convinced her 600 new best friends that an ear scratch and a tummy rub is the way to her heart, not to mention lots of smiles and stories!

It has already been so lovely to notice that whenever Roxie is around, students and staff just can't help but smile. A dog is a calming and reassuring presence for many people and she has already earned her title as Roxie the Wonderdog by helping students transition into school; providing company when students are feeling a bit upset; and even helping some teachers tackle their planning by snuggling up for some company and goodwill! I try not to take it too personally that staff and students are very disappointed when I arrive at school without Roxie these days!

Road Safety

Recently we have had some very 'near misses' as children and families have crossed Kalinda Road between traffic. One such 'near miss' was caught on dash cam and passed on to the school by a concerned driver. We are concerned for the safety of our students and families and ask that you are please mindful of using the School Crossing. Our amazing crossing guard Pete is a patient and thorough guard - it is worth the extra 10 second wait to ensure your family's safety. A high five or g'day from Pete is just the added bonus!

Mud mud everywhere and no clean shoes in sight!

Despite their very best efforts (and sometimes not so 'best'!) our students are having trouble avoiding the copious amounts of mud in our beautiful grounds. Pleasemake sure that your child's school bag has a spare pair of named pants, socks and even shoes.
