Huntingtower Parents & Friends

Bensons

Our friends at Bensons in Mount Waverley have been an amazing financial contributor to Huntingtower over the last 2 years.  A favourite haunt of HT staff and parents alike, this week Bensons presented the P&F with a cheque for $500, which will be a valuable addition to our fundraising.  Please support our Bensons reward initiative – 20% of every dollar spent at Bensons on The Highway, Mount Waverley is donated back to the school.  All you need to do is to present your Bensons Reward Card (available at the HT office, Uniform Shop or P&F) or mention Huntingtower at the time of your visit.  Bensons provide great experiences from a morning coffee fix through to full-blown functions and celebrations.  Enjoying Bensons hospitality and directly supporting HT is the thing to do!  Once again, the P&F extend sincere thanks to Brent Manning and his team at Bensons for their generous support.

Junior School Donation

Further to our 2019 AGM, we are happy to report that Dr Helen McDonald has already found good use for the $10,000 of fete proceeds donated to Junior School!  Recently, two air conditioner units (valued at $7,000) were installed in Junior School After Care and two laptop computers (value $3,000) will soon be purchased.  We are sure that these acquisitions will enhance an already excellent program.  Thank you to Dr McDonald for identifying these needs so quickly!  We trust the benefits are already being enjoyed by students and staff.

Trivia Night Teaser

Following a very successful HT Fete in 2018, the P&F and the school have agreed that the fete will occur every second year to help ensure its continued support and success.  This leaves the day customarily occupied by fete (the first Saturday after Melbourne Cup Day) free for another flagship event.  The P&F would like to continue the HT tradition of a major school event on this day so have committed to running a school-wide HT Trivia Night on the evening of Saturday, November 9.  HT Parents (Junior, Middle and Senior Schools) are all welcome!  Please watch this space for further details – we have formed a special Trivia Night Committee and the night is sure to be an event not to be missed.  Please save the date,  and support the school by coming along to this a fun, community-building evening.

Honey Fundraiser

The P&F will be running the popular Honey Fundraiser again this year.  We are waiting for our beekeeper from Cathedral Valley Honey, Robert van der Graag, to give us the thumbs-up that he will be able to meet the demand generated by this fundraiser.  We anticipate launching the fundraiser in early April. It will be run over a number of weeks, with orders being available for collection in June (shortly after the Queen’s Birthday weekend).  We will distribute order forms via the HT Bulletin, Junior News and class representatives as soon as we are ready to go.

Next P&F Meeting

Wednesday 1 May at 7.30 pm in the Senior School Library. All welcome!
