Teaching and Learning

As we come to the end of an interesting year, it is important to take a moment and reflect on the year that's been. While 2020 had it's challenges, it also brought with it many achievements from both our students and staff. Through this our Teaching and Learning has continued to ensure our students have had opportunity to show growth in their learning. 

Victorian High-Ability Program

The Department of Education this year has established a program to support high achieving students in Victorian Schools by extending chosen students in Numeracy and Literacy. 

In term 4, Calvin Nguyen, Year 8, and Hugo Wu, Year 7, participated in the English and Mathematics Virtual Classes respectively. 

Congratulations to both students for representing ECSC and demonstrating our School Value 'Embrace Learning'.  

Preparing for 2021

Term 4 saw all students complete Literacy and Numeracy adaptive assessments which will inform their point of need and allow our teachers to develop and implement curriculum for improved student growth in 2021 and beyond. 

Congratulations to our Year 9 students for recently sitting their Maths and English Exams. This opportunity provided students with the experience and expectations to prepare them for Senior School. They have also successfully completed their first year of Selectives which gave them an opportunity to choose subjects based on their interests. 

With the last term seeing us back in the classrooms, our teachers were given the opportunity to participate in Learning Observations. Teachers opened their classrooms to share their teaching practice with each other. This gave our teachers the opportunity to demonstrate our school value of 'Look to Inspire yourself and others'. We look forward to expanding our school community and everything that 2021 has in store for us.
