Supreme Incursions- 3rd February 2021 – Wednesday

Seniors in Learning Space 1 had a fun filled Learning Incursion where they were involved with hands on activities as students worked as a team to create and build challenging toys and objects.

 

Activity 1: Portrait Creators: 

Students split themselves into pairs and worked together to create a 3D portrait using Lego bricks in line with the topic focus – Communities.

Students had 2 minutes to deconstruct and make sure all block were put back neatly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Activity 2:  Finish the Build: Toys are chopped off.

Finish the Build:  Students used their imagination and finished the other half of the object. They used their thinking to plan space, colour, patterns and considered the time frame to build the object in a creative way. 

 

Activity 3: Instructional Build:

 Students split into pairs or work by themselves to build a LEGO set using the instruction step by step manual on an iPad. 

 

Easy/medium/Hard Lego sets supplied to students in colour coded options - green, yellow, red. Some of the sets include plants, houses, cars, animals, etc. 

• Students take turns to building the objects one step at a time. 

• Early finishing groups have the opportunity to start completing another set. 

• 2 minutes to deconstruct and make sure all blocks are put back neatly in the set. 

 

Activity 4: Creative Build: 

Students used the iPad and followed an instructional manual to work as a team to build an object using ICT skills. They followed the steps of a procedure.
