Welcome to Kindergarten 2021
We are so excited to be welcoming Preshil’s newest cohort of young learners into the school community and hearing about the summer adventures and escapades of our returning four and five year olds.
The Kindergarten spaces are ready and waiting with a range of experiences for children to investigate with both old and new friends.
Every child will been encouraged to express their interests so that the Kindergarten educators can support and guide them in learning that is engaging and relevant to their individual personalities and preferences.
We will be exploring diverse learning in the program through the Early Years Learning Framework and the IB Primary Years Program.
We are looking forward to beginning the year with our two Units of Inquiry that aim to support children’s understanding about themselves and others: Who We Are – Central Idea: The importance and diversity of our bodies supports our individual and community wellbeing. How We Express Ourselves – Central Idea: We create and interpret messages through many mediums for a variety of purposes.
What to Bring
As we value discovering in our beautiful outdoor environment each day, please remember to equip your child with sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle, and a rain jacket. As a Sunsmart Kindergarten, we adhere to “no hat, no outdoor play” for every child’s safety. If possible, it is ideal for every child to have a hat, sunscreen, and a rain jacket that can be stored at Kindergarten for readiness to explore in any weather! We also recommend that each child have a change of clothes packed each day in case there are accidents, or a need for a fresh outfit. The Kindergarten Handbook is here.
