Christmas Twilight Concert

It was a fitting tribute to Mr Timmins as we dedicated last Friday's Christmas Twilight Concert to him.  We had performances from our singers, bands, guitars, strings, actors, not to forget the carols with the entire group of performers, audience and a special guest appearance, joining the singers onstage, by Mr Couani.

Student leader, Luke Sarkissian, gave a moving tribute to Mr Timmins and our Music tutors played a special Irish Blessing for him.

We also thank the PAPA Committee and parents who assisted in preparing for the evening as well as providing a wonderful BBQ for the students and audience.

Drama Matters

Drama Showcase

We had a packed house of parents, students and staff last Thursday for our annual Drama Showcase event. It was wonderful to see students from Year 7, 9 and 10 performing their classwork from this semester. There was a great range of performances from original devised mimes written and performed by Year 7, group scenes from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Duologues from Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” performed by Year 10 plus extra short scenes by Year 9 from a range of plays.

Students helped with the lighting and stage management for each performance and it is so good for the students to experience working under professional lights and performing for an external audience. Thank you to all the parents for their continuing support of the Performing Arts at the College.

Twilight Concert

Thank you to those Drama students from the Intermediate Drama Ensemble who have worked hard on their acting all year. The culmination of effort and achievement was to perform in front of a large crowd outdoors at Friday’s Twilight concert. It was great to be back and part of the whole school initiative. Students presented short scenes from the timeless story of Scrooge and “The Christmas Carol” and we also had an Angry Elf and Naughty Boy present who were equally hilarious. A big thank you to both the Senior and Intermediate Drama Ensembles who have said yes to all of my requests for performances this year. They are all talented students.
