Prayer

This weekend sees the start of Advent, which is the four weeks leading to Christmas.  Advent serves as a time of expectation and anticipation of Christ's birth.

The theme for the first week of Advent is HOPE.

O Lord, as we enter this season of Advent, this time of waiting and anticipation,

fill me with the hope of Christ.

Help me to wait in great expectation for your great light to shine in this world, for all who are living in darkness to see the dawning of your light.

May your light fill all the darkest corners of this world.

Our hope of Christmas, is the hope that the birth of a baby – Jesus Christ, your Son – will change the world, and will work a change in my own life.

This I pray through your Son Jesus Christ, Amen.

Christmas Twilight Concert

Last Friday's Christmas Twilight Concert was a wonderful event, full of great music, acting and joyous sounds.  The carol singing at the end of the evening was, as always, an enjoyable ending to our final concert of the year.

It was fitting that the concert was dedicated to Mr Timmins. Student leader and Performing Arts student, Luke Sarkissian, paid tribute to Mr Timmins and the Performing Arts staff played a moving rendition of the Irish Blessing.

Thank you to the PAPA Committee and parents who assisted with the evening. A great success!

Visit from TEREA - 21 November

The College hosted Trustees of the EREA Council on Monday this week for their November Council meeting.  Following a tour of the College, they met with the College Principal, the College Leadership Team and some of our Year 12 students.

Founder's Day

We are looking forward to Founder's Day this Friday, 25 November, at Oxford Falls.  It is a whole school event and students will wear their sports uniform.  Recess and Lunch will be provided for all.

This is a community day and many parents join with us to offer lunch to the students.  I thank the P&F in anticipation of their assistance on the day, especially the many Year 11 parents.

We will hear from representatives from the Refugee Council of Australia speak about their journey as refugees and arrival in Australia. Our special guest will be Mr Phil Glendenning, Executive Director of the Edmund Rice Centre at Homebush.
