Wellbeing & Students Support
Wellbeing and student support teams across our campuses have been working hard to support students with additional needs. Our staff work to provide students with support in classrooms, but also by offering a range of programs outside of classes. These programs and supports are aligned to six High Impact Wellbeing Areas:
Learning
Material Basics
Mental Health
Physical Health
Cared for & Safe
Participation
Examples of this include:
Material Basics – breakfast program
Mental health – social and emotional learning with learning mentors, in school counselling, access to external services
Participation – hands on learning program
There will be a number of programs and supports that will be available to students and these will be progressively rolled out across the year.
STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS
Student Support Group Meetings provide a forum for the school, family/guardians, student and external supports to meet and discuss individual school support plans for students. The meetings are used in the development of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans for students.
Neighbourhood Leaders and House Leaders, with the support of wellbeing staff and leadership, are in the process of setting these meetings up to ensure that students needs are met. If you have issues or supports for your child that require discussion, please contact your child's Neighbourhood or House Leader.
