OUR FAITH

Prayer
Loving God, friend of children and the poor, be with us as we try each day to be messengers of your good news. Through the prayers and example of Jesus and Mary MacKillop, help us to make a difference in our world by being aware of those who are most in need of care and support. May we be generous in sharing what we have and being a friend to those who are alone. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
We pray for...
all candidates preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, for Fr Chris as he takes leave to travel back to Nigeria, all HSC students preparing for and undertaking trail exams, for the O'Neile family (Parker and Tyler) on the sad passing of their two great grandmothers, for the Lloyd Family (Audrey and Ivy) on the sad passing of their great grandmother and for all our farming families.

St Mary of the Cross - Feast Day
St Mary of the Cross (Mary Mackillop) Feast – 8th August
August 8 marks the anniversary of the death of Mary MacKillop and the Feast Day of Australia's first Saint. Canonised by Pope John Paul II on 17th October 2010. Although her death occurred more than a century ago, she continues to inspire men, women and children whether Catholic or non-Catholic. Her Feast Day is a time to contemplate her remarkable life, her sense of social justice and her enormous contribution to education and as a champion of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized. The co-founder of the Josephites, the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, she was a tireless advocate of education and schools. At just 24 she established a school for children of the poor and underprivileged in Penola, SA, and under her guidance, her Order went on to found schools not only across SA but also in Victoria, NSW and eventually New Zealand. With her strength of faith in God, her vision of a better world for all, with patience, a forgiving heart and trust in God, she managed to overcome whatever obstacles were put her way.
Family Mass
A small number of families attended our first Family Mass for Term 3 and gathered afterwards for a scrumptious morning tea in the beautiful sunshine. A big thank you to Fr Chris for his enthusiastic manner in which he speaks to us and our children. We thank all our families and teachers who contributed and attended. Our next Family Mass will be held on Sunday 9th September at 9.30am. Everyone is invited to attend! (Yr 1 and Yr 5 will be hosting).
Sacrament of Confirmation
A reminder that completed forms, proof of Sponsors Baptism/Confirmation and money for the Sacrament of Confirmation are now overdue. Fr Chris will be on leave for a month as of next week and we need to have all documentation finalised.
