FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Term 3  Week 3

Thank you to all the families who supported the Parish Family Mass last Sunday and also to the Kindergarten and Year 6 classes for organising morning tea. As I have said many times it is important that as a faith community we come together to pray and worship regularly.

Thank you to those parents who came along to the PTF meeting in the library on Monday night. We are so lucky to have such an enthusiastic body of parents looking for ways to connect families and to build school community. It should be a great night on Saturday for the Trivia Evening.

On Sunday and Monday next week I will be joining with Catholic school principals from across the diocese and New South Wales for the Australian Council of Educational Research Conference in Sydney. The theme for the conference is, “Teaching Practices That Make A Difference: Insights From Research”. Days such as these allow me to reflect on what we do at St Nicholas and also give direction as to where to next.

Thank you for your continued efforts to ensure that the students present themselves in the correct school uniform in a neat and tidy manner each day. This is a very important aspect of school for it teaches the children to understand that standards are important in their lives as well as respecting the community to which they belong.

As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter the Catholic Schools Office requires schools to participate in the next round of School Satisfaction Surveys. Parents will receive an email requesting them to complete the survey. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. If anyone does not receive the reminder email it means we do not have your current email address. If you would like to complete the survey you will need to forward to the school your email details.

Wasn’t it wonderful to finally see some rain? Please keep praying for more.
