JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

We raised $7.154 for the Heart Foundation which is absolutely exceptional and smashed our $2000 target. With this of course, is an important reminder to our families and students out there to keep active (at least 60 minutes a day), eat healthy (plenty of fruit and vegetables)and keep skipping to keep our hearts healthy.

Recently, the Coles stikeez campaign has really promoted healthy eating due to the fact that one in four Aussie children aged between 5 and 17 are overweight or obese and while 73% of children aged 2-17 eat enough fruit, just 6.3% eat the recommended serves of vegetables (ABS 2017/18). Healthy eating starts at home, and “eating the rainbow” is one of the best ways to ensure kids are getting all the vitamins and minerals that can be found packed into all those awesome fruits and vegetables. For ideas of how to eat the rainbow, please check out https://healthy-kids.com.au/ for lots of healthy recipes.

Here are the results from the day:

The Hockey team will go onto the Division competition which will take place in Term 4. Well done everyone! We look forward to our Inter-School competitions in Term 2 in netball, tee-ball, soccer and AFL.
