Principal's Message

What a term it has been! We had a smooth start to the year with our new students, including our 111 preps, settling in so quickly. We welcomed new staff members, who now seem to have been here forever. We have enjoyed a fabulous Family Fun Night, which raised a much needed $11,591.42 for our school. Following we have included a list of the many generous donations and gestures of support we received. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work of the Coffee and Chat group in organising and working on the stalls on the night.  Also to the small group of parents and to all the staff who helped set up, and then dismantle the stalls. Ms Julie Nixon and I are also very grateful to Mr Rob Peel, who was there very late to make sure the gates were locked after the rides and other amusement activities had headed home.

PPPS would like to thank the following people and businesses for their sponsorship and donations to our Family Fun Night 2020.

There are however two staff members who need a special note of thanks again this year; Mrs Antonella Azzopardi and Ms Julie Nixon. Between them they make the night ‘come together’ and then follow up the tasks that need to be done well after the crowds had gone and school had returned to ‘normal’.

Speaking of normal, our whole way of life is changing and morphing into a different, and hopefully short lived, ‘new normal’. Thank you for your understanding and support of our efforts to protect and educate your/our kids, first while they were here at school and then when we move to remote learning, if required, in term 2. Let’s face it, with the news from overseas swamping us with stories of the extreme measures other countries have put in place, it is highly likely that we will indeed move to remote learning sooner rather than later.

Please take care over the holidays and observe the restrictions announced. Don’t let the kids go to each other’s houses, have a sleep over, go to the shopping centre or hug friends if they do see them. While it may seem extreme to you now, if we don’t follow these social distancing protocols and government requirements, more people will become ill and no doubt, more people will die.

Keep yourself and your family safe. We will be in contact on Tuesday April 14, to let you know our next steps.
