Principal's Report

Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
We will have some minor changes to staffing for the start of Term 3. Mrs. Trish Davis (Learning Support Officer) is leaving us to move to Bendigo. We wish her all the best for this 'Tree Change.' We thank Trish for her many years of service to the school. Miss Lauren Quintal who is currently working on Thursdays and Fridays will take over Trish's hours on Mondays and Tuesdays as well. This is good news in that we will be able to provide the same level of service with minimal interruptions.
Mr. Liam McCartney will be leaving us at the end of this term to travel Europe with friends. Mr. McCartney was in Year 5 for Term 1 whilst Mr. Callery was on Long Service Leave, and has been in Year 3 for Term 2 whilst Mrs. Howell has been on extended leave. Mrs. Howell will be returning to full time duties from the start of next term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. McCartney for his flexibility in supporting our classes and school community this Semester, and look forward to his return later in the year..
On Friday we celebrate the End of Term with a special Mass. The theme for this Mass is to encourage our community to let our light shine brightly, and the light of those around us, and be a light for the world like Jesus wants us to do. We thank God for this term. We thank God for the good times and the experiences that have challenged us. We reflect upon how much we have grown this term; in height, in learning, in compassion and in understanding. We congratulate and thank those students who have been SRCs, Sustainability Leaders and Social Justice Leaders this semester.
Footy Colours Day this Friday
This Friday is footy colours day! Come dressed in your favourite football team colours. If football is not your sport then come in your own favourite teams' colours - NRL, Netball Soccer!

Don't miss out, bookings close TOMORROW!
Lightning Premierships Update
Congratulations to our Netballers and Footballers who competed in the Lightning Premierships last Thursday and Friday. Special mention to our Boys A Netball Team who won the shield for the 2nd year running. A great effort from all involved. Thanks to Nicki Connolly who has provided some excellent photos of the netball players from the day.
Elevator Project Update
Lee our builder has been hard at work this week. The internal cladding has gone on the elevator shaft with the external cladding going up very soon.
The external cladding will have a mural on it by Alex Sugar. Alex completed our other mural on the main building facing the asphalt playground area. I am very excited to see what he comes up with!
The internal works and modifications in the hallway will happen over the mid year break.
Unfortunately it is highly unlikely that the elevator will be ready for the upcoming Grandparents day on Thursday 21st July.
Grandparents that have difficulty with stairs will be accommodated for with children being able to come downstairs to the art room and Library.
School Reports
Student reports were emailed to parents on Monday of this week. Please follow the instructions in the email to access the reports. My thanks to all class teachers for their hard work in preparing the reports and in particular, my thanks to Mrs. Margy D'Rozario our learning and Teaching Leader for all of the background preparation work that went into the report program.
School Holidays
The mid-year school holidays begin this Friday 24th June at 1:50pm. Holiday care program is available to families via the usual booking methods with Melissa for the two weeks of holidays. School will resume on Monday 11th July at 8:50am.
John Ashe Playground Works
Work has begun on the John Ashe Playground renovation. Steve, our resident handyman had lots of helpers yesterday!
Grandparents (and Special Friends) Day
Save the Date - Grandparents Day is scheduled for Thursday 21st July. Activities will begin in the classrooms from 8:50am followed by morning tea in the hall from 10:30am. Sadly we won't be gathering in the church for mass, however we will be having liturgies in the classrooms. All Grandparents and special friends are invited to attend. We are so looking forward to resuming this very important event on our school calendar.
Long Service Leave
I will be taking one week of Long Service Leave at the Start of Term 3. I will be caravanning with my family to the Northern Territory during the scheduled school holidays and the additional first week of Term 3.
In my absence, Ms. Michelle Hill and Mr. Steele Anderson will be Acting Principals. They have my complete trust to run the school whilst I am away. Please direct any communication you may have to them during this time.
God Bless
