As another very busy and successful term comes to an end. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the LNPS staff and students on completing a very busy but successful first semester of 2022.
This Friday we have our final assembly for the term which will be live streamed. Due to the early finish we have had to change the structure of the day slightly.
Assembly will begin at 1:10pm and conclude at 2:00pm. Students will then return to class at the completion of assembly for dismissal at 2:10pm.
COVID Update
We have been advised that current DfE COVID Guidelines are being reviewed over the holidays. Once we receive further information we will inform the community.
Community Night
We are beginning to plan our annual LNPS Community Night which is scheduled for Wednesday 21st September. Once we are aware of the updated DfE COVID Guidelines we will confirm plans and our theme. We are also hoping to incorporate the offical opening on the Early Years Redevelopment at the same time.
Please look out for further updates early next term.
Uniform
This term we have received feedback from students, staff and families requesting LNPS beanies and puffer jackets. We are in the final design stages and will be taking orders next week.
Please look out for an email next week with instructions on how to order. There will only be one order window so don't miss out. Items will be delivered in Week 6.
NAIDOC Week
This week we’re celebrating National NAIDOC Week as we conclude Term 2.
The theme Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! is about amplifying Aboriginal voices to narrow the gap between aspiration and reality, good intent and outcome.
One way we are actioning this message as a system is by creating practical resources to support teachers authentically embed Aboriginal context in the curriculum.
For example, many curriculum units of work contain teaching and learning advice to support teachers authentically embed Aboriginal contexts in the classroom. This work is continuing in the new units being released in September.
Our focus for active lunch this week will be traditional Indigenous games. They are a lot of fun!
We are also thrilled that our classes undertake an Acknowledgement to Country each day and that we have our LNPS Acknowledgement to Country that is used at the beginning of school events.
Have a lovely holiday break and we look forward to seeing all our students and their families back next term.
