RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Welcome back!

As a new term begins let us reflect back to our last day of Term Two for students. On Thursday 23rd  June, Fr Michael led us beautifully in celebrating our school’s Feast of the Sacred Heart Day Mass. The Mass was a combination of our school’s Feast Day and a Mass for the Needy (Historically ‘Poor Man’s Mass’).

Weeks leading up to the Mass, our Year 6 Leaders visited classrooms across the school talking to and encouraging children and staff about how they can give generously to those in need. As a result there was once again an overwhelming response of generosity from families in our school community.

With great pride, following Mass, the Year 6 Leaders delivered all the donations from Sacred Heart School to St Vinnies where they were gratefully received. The St Vinnies staff gave thanks on behalf of the many families in our community that are experiencing tough times and through your donations they will find some comfort.

This week the Sacramental Team will meet at the Parish to organise dates for the Commitment, Preparation and Celebration Masses. With the support of their families and Staff, students from Sacred Heart and St Mary’s will have the opportunity to receive their Sacrament of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Further details in next week’s newsletter.
