Dance Curriculum!

Dance Curriculum!

On Thursday the 14th of July, DPS had Dean from Dance Curriculum come in and teach the whole school a variety of Hip Hop Dances. Every year level from Prep to Level Six got the opportunity to learn a dance and present it to the other classes.

The lessons were fun and engaging, with moves that were simple enough to learn quickly but gave all students the challenge of mastering them. Students popped and locked, going through step by step with the instructor.

The kids then performed in front of their peers. Everyone showed enthusiasm and confidence in themselves!

The sessions finished off with Dean teaching them one more group dance that they all participated in with a tremendous amount of energy.

The kids loved seeing Dean perform which really encouraged everyone to give it their all.

Isaac  5E- I think it was good to have fun and have a giggle with your friends. It kept us all energised.

Hana  5E- Dean taught us some very interesting dance moves. I really enjoyed watching the other classes perform.

Mika  3L- “I loved the music, it was really cool”

Alex O’3L- “The man had the best robot moves”

Damien 1P- it’s awesome!

Chloe C 1P- I liked dancing when we put our head down in the dance.

Sophia  6P - It was really enjoyable because we had the chance to learn how to do certain dance moves and we got to watch Dean perform his own dance moves to the class. It was a lot of fun.

Shantia  6P- It was a really good experience to learn new dance moves in front of/together with the Grade 4's and 5's. We also learnt a new song from Dean and it was "Learning is Fun", which is really catchy and still stuck in our heads.
